and all of WordPress plug-ins available. I’m thinking of using http://www.webhostingpad.com but I’m not sure about it!

Answer:

Yes, WebHostingPad does WordPress, but you have to be careful in choosing the right plan. It’s a little complicated over there and what starts out as “$1.99″ web hosting ends up costing a LOT more with all their upsells. They have a Basic plan and a Power Plan. And then they have an option for Database Storage using a standard hard drive or a high performance plan for use with WordPress. Really? Are you kidding me? If you don’t pick the right thing, you end up on a P.O.S. server. Don’t go there.

Instead, get a WebHostingHub account. WebHostingHub KNOWS how to do WordPress and they don’t jack you around on stupid upgrades and options. They’re servers are optimized to run WordPress right from the start. I have a Hub account and WordPress runs super fast on it. They have the best WordPress hosting.

I need another working webhostingpad coupon or webhostingpad review. I’m going to purchase it today and I hope to get a discount from them.

Answer:

WebHostingPad no longer has exclusive coupon codes. They stopped issuing them several years ago. A lot of web hosts stopped using them.

The only WebHostingPad coupon code that I know of is: FREEDOMAIN

You can use the coupon code when you sign up for a new domain. If you already have a domain name, then you can’t use the coupon code.

But you know what? With that price lock guarantee thing they have and those super, and I do mean MEGA super low prices, the discount is already built in.

Question:
I started to edit my site and I uploaded what I believed was a html file from KompoZer just to get something official on my website hosted by WebHostingPad. But when I type in my site, it gives me a 403 forbidden sign and says I don’t have permission to access it. Do I change the permission to it? Idk what to do.

Answer:

Check the permissions (CHMOD) on your index.html file. HTML files (and images), you typically want them set to 644 (rw-r–r–)

BTW, you got a really good deal at WebHostingPad. They’re the only web host that I know of that doesn’t raise their pricing on renewal. They’ve got something called price lock guarantee. The price you pay when you sign up stays locked in forever. That’s a pretty sweet deal.

Hi,

I have got two domain names and i uploaded files and i can see the same files on both domains how would i upload files to just one of the domains?

And if this helps im using Ipage web host

Thanks
Robert

Answer:

You lost me. On your iPage account, you have a primary domain. That’s one domain. In order to have another domain, you have to create an addon domain. When you do that, it creates a folder in the root for that domain name. Upload your files to it.

BTW, where’d you buy your domain names from? Next time give NameCheap a shot.

Question:

Out of iPage, Host Monster, Blue Host – anyone used any of these for domain names + hosting? Which one(s) have you had good or bad experiences with? Can you recommend another if you got good service?

Answer:

The best place to buy domain names is from the source… a domain name registrar. It’s the absolute cheapest way. I always use this NameCheap coupon code. Buying a domain name from a web host is more expensive because they’re a middle man and they have to make a profit. The only cheaper option is to take the free domain name offer when you buy web hosting, but then you don’t own the domain name, the web host does.

What kind of website are you going to build?

HostMonster and BlueHost are the same company, just different websites. I have a BlueHost account and it’s fine.

iPage is an excellent host, too. They have a good online site builder. Here, take a look.

I’ve been tasked with recommending a host for a client and they showed interest in iPage.com I’ve never had an account with them before and this feature caught my attention:

“Automate Your Site Backup for $ 12.95/year
Protect your site with this automated daily backup. Easily restore lost and damaged files directly to your account.”

This seems gimmicky to me. They make it sound like unless you pay this fee they won’t backup any of your data on their servers, but this sounds ridiculous to me for a hosting company. Does anyone know what this actually means?

Answer:

It’s not a gimmick. You can always create your own backups, but people tend to forget about doing it until it’s too late. iPage‘s Site Backup is only for the file system. So if you’re running any database apps like WordPress, you will need to backup the database on your own, but that can be done with a WordPress plugin.

Another thing the site backup does is allow you to easily recover single files. If the client doesn’t need site backups right now, they can always add it on later. You don’t have to get it now.

Question:
I need to upgrade a client’s website for more disk space. The client doesn’t want to pay more than $ 50 a year for hosting, they currently have their website hosted on a free site but we need more disk space to upgrade the quality of all of their pictures.

Has anyone used iPage as a host before? I’ve heard good things about them but would like to get a review from someone who’s actually used it as a host before…

Any info you could give me about it would be great! (Especially if it supports Dreamweaver.)

Thanks in advance!

Answer:

Yes, I’ve used iPage web hosting. You need to hurry, though. They’re having a Winter Sale for as low as $2.95/month for a multi-year plan. But even the 1-year plan at $3.50/month gets you in for only $42/yr. Just ignore all the upsells at the bottom of the order page. They can always be added later, if needed.

iPage does have Dreamweaver support. You’ll also be able to easily add a blog to your client’s site with the 1-click script installer found in the iPage control panel called SimpleScripts. You mentioned pictures. SimpleScripts also has some photo galleries.

They’ve got a great support team that will bend over backwards to help with any of your questions.

Each hosting account comes with unlimited hosting space, bandwidth, email and more. A free domain name is also included if your client is trying to keep costs low.

A few more things, they are an eco-friendly green host. The data center is powered by renewable wind energy. They do not have any inode limits so you can have as many files as you like on the account. There is also an anytime moneyback guarantee. If for any reason the account needs to be closed, they will refund the unused portion of the web hosting fees.

Question:
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to start my own website-yay!
I had no idea, however, that it would be so confusing! First I went to wordpress.org, and they told me that I needed web hosting, so I set up an account with ipage.com that gives me unlimited hosting and a free domain. I made my domain, http://www.popfrock.com/ (it’s going to be a fashion design portfolio of sorts) …so far so good right? Then I got confused. Trying to follow wordpress instructions for windows is kind of out of my league…I got that I need to have a FTP client so I downloaded Cyberduck and later, at the instruction of a youtube video, a free trial of Fetch. I installed wordpress from ipage.com and made an FTP login, and got into the administrative dashboard of popfrock.com. I also (thanks youtube!) installed a theme by downloading it and then dragging the little folder into the “themes” folder once I logged into Fetch. Then I went to my wordpress dashboard thing and typed in a quickie test post. Have I done okay so far?
Problem is, if you visit the website you’ll see that it says it’s under construction. How do I get what I do (posts, theme change, etc) to show up on the site?
Thanks everybody! Hope this all makes sense…I’m a little confused

Answer:

You didn’t need an FTP program. iPage already has the WordPress software in the control panel. You should have logged into your iPage control panel, scrolled to the Software and Addons section, clicked on SimpleScripts, then clicked on WordPress. There is a super simple form that asks where you want to install WordPress. 1-click installation.

The reason you are seeing the under construction page is because the default webpage on your account needs to be deleted. Again, go to your control panel, find the File Manager, go to the root of your account and delete the default.html page. You blog should now display.

BTW, having a Mac has nothing to do with it.
