How can I set up email hosting on iPage when I have a domain purchased through GoDaddy?

Setting Up Email On ipage

Question:

I recently bought a domain on godaddy, but use iPage for hosting. Because the domain has not been transferred, I cannot receive emails at the email addresses I created on iPage and my webmail URL doesn’t work at all. Is there a way I can get my email to work on iPage without transferring the domain there, and if so, how?

Answer:

There is no reason for you to transfer the domain name away from your current registrar.

  • Go into your GoDaddy control panel to Domain Management and point the nameservers to ns1.ipage.com and ns2.ipage.com.
  • Go into your iPage control panel to Domains and create an addon domain using your GD domain name.
  • Then go into the Email section of the control panel and set up an email account on your ipage account. You can either use MailCentral for use with an email client on your computer like Outlook, WindowsMail, Thunderbird, etc. Or you can set up webmail.
